Date: 14 – 15 July 2025
Location: Z205, Block Z, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
The Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Geomatics and Jockey Club STEM Lab of Earth Observations at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University will hold a two-day workshop and tutorial. This international workshop explores the forefront of geospatial artificial intelligence (GeoAI) advancements and applications in planetary, ecosystems, infrastructure and cities. In an era where artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the fields of Earth observations, earth and environmental sciences, urban and sustainability sciences, the workshop immerses participants in cutting-edge AI technologies and recent advancements, demonstrates their applications to complex geospatial problems, and guides the derivation of meaningful scientific insights.
The tutorial sessions will be dedicated to hands-on learning and experiments, enabling interested participants to develop technical skills and apply GeoAI methods effectively. These practical sessions will expose attendees to diverse and unconventional applications, cutting-edge AI techniques, and grounded exercises designed to bridge theory with real-world implementation. It further serves as a platform for idea exchange and sparkling among young researchers.
Overall, this international event provides a unique opportunity to connect active researchers—from young scholars and students, rising stars to senior experts—from Hong Kong, Asia, and the globe. Participants will collaborate with leading experts in GeoAI and relevant fields, fostering innovation, building professional networks, and developing leadership skills in a rapidly evolving time of AI-enhanced geospatial research and education.
